Angelica Essential Oil
Angelica Essential Oil has soothing qualities that help relax nerves and muscles. Also, it helps to calm and help with restful sleep.
Extraction Method: Steam distilled from the root.
Chemical Constituents: Monoterpenes (73%): phellandrene, a-and B-pinenes, limonene (13%); Esters; Terpene alkaloids; Coumarins: bergoptene.
NOTE: Because angelica contains bergopten, it may be photosensitizing and should not be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light within 72 hours.
Angelica Essential Oil Historical Information:
For centuries Angelica Essential Oil was believed to protect against contagion. Hence, by purifying the blood and curing every possible malady. Especially poisonings and infections. At that time, Angelica was closely linked with Christianity. It was said to have been revealed in a dream by Archangel Raphael to a monk as a cure for the plague. The Archangel’s name is believed to have come from its flowering on the day of Michael the Archangel. Therefore used as a protectant against witchcraft and evil spirits.
How to use Angelica Essential Oil
- Dietary: Dilute one drop with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or other vegetable oil (e.g., virgin coconut, olive, almond). Put in a capsule and take up to three times daily or as needed.
- Topical: Dilute one drop with V-6 or other vegetable oil; apply to the desired area.
- Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes three times daily. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, consult a healthcare practitioner before use. Avoid direct sunlight for up to 12 hours after applying the product.
